Historical buttonloops

I was debating how to do the button holes on my regency dress. It's such fine fabric, I didn't want to pull it by sewing a modern buttonhole and then ruining the whole dress. I considered making traditional bias button loops but considered them to be too bulky for the light weight fabric and began researching into other methods. One of these were thread loops that would be sewn onto the fabric edge and looped around. I was worried that they wouldn't be strong enough so I decided to make crochet loops. Crochet with a hook wasn't really around at the time but looping with your finger was. I tried with finger looping but it wasn't as tight as I wated it so I decided to use a very small hook. I'm quite please with how it worked out :)
